MUSIC: Weekend of Great Festivals

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
From Sept 21 to 25, The International Music Festival of POP Montreal was were you needed to be if you were in downtown Montreal.  You could not miss out the variety of new generation of music  and activities that  took place. But if you miss most of the concerts, I know you did not miss the show on Thursday 22, which was also No Cars Day. That beautiful night, the talented Kid Koala, the charm of Karkwa, whom were invite by the most anticipated concert of all, Arcade Fire, had to be given hands up.
To start the evening at the Quartier des Spectacles, Kid Koala, got on stage with his Koala costume to impress us with the most amazing remixes I have ever seen.

Then, it was the turn for the irresistible Karkwa, who also opened the show for Arcade Fire. Bringing Louis- Jean Cormier and the rest of the band on stage was an excellent mix of culture and language.
Later on, the waiting was over when Arcade Fire, brought the crowd of more than 100,000 people alive by singing along those catchy and touchy lyrics. After a couple of days, I still have the songs playing on my head.

Another big event this weekend, was that of IHeartRadio Music Festival. At Las Vegas, we can say that nothing really stays there, especially when is a two day event that is full of famous artists.

The ones who "rocked " the floor and made the crowd loud:
Coldplay, Jane's Addiction,

and ska- punk band Sublime with Rome

Bringing the house to another level: the amazing Sting  performed duets with  legend, Steven Tyler, and the mother of monsters, Lady Gaga.

The unpredictable ladies:
Motorcycle bad girl Lady Gaga, and pink chicken Nicki Minaj wowed everyone.

Sexy Nicole Scherzinger, Hot Jennifer Lopez, and the talented Kelly Clarkson  also impressed the audience.

From bands and "single ladies", we also had R&B, hip-hop and Rap stars:
an amazing duet by Alicia Keys and Jay-Z
as well as the energetic Usher, and the transcending Black Eyed Peas

Those who gave it a little touch of Country:

Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney , and the trio Rascal Flatts with their special guest, Natasha Bedingfield

David Guetta (right) brought the house down as well as the sensational Bruno Mars (left),  and the recently famous Karmin (down)

Where you at any of these festivals?, Which performances did you like the most? And Ladies, what did you think about the outfits. I loved how Carrie Underwood combines country with a rock style, she looked fabulous! The lady from the new youtube sensation of Karmin also look great. By the way, if you guys do not know them, listen to them, they became famous by making covers like this one...

DECO: White Bedroom

Currently, I have my bedroom decorated with peaceful white and Java blue. It has had those color since I moved into my bedroom 3 years ago. Since then, I have not had any major changes besides adding a few minor decorations here and there. But recently, I have been thinking of having a metamorphosis  of colors, textures,  and designs to create my own sanctuary  of peacefulness and relaxation.

From all the research that I have done to inspire me in the creation for my new bedroom. I selected the some of the most outstanding decorations to share them with you:

Before all else, we have to take in consideration 5 rules from www.homedit.com :

  1. Painting diverse shades of white  (taking in consideration architectural details):
    • Cloudy white, ballet white, cotton balls, aloe vera... More ideas on www.benjaminmoore.com
    • Shades of Blue: Gives the room a  cleanliness look. This attic can be a room to keep all those useless things we barely or never use, or it can be transformed to this beautiful area in your house.

    • Beige, yellowish or brownish: Convey a vintage style by using carpets, furniture, lamps...

    •  Gray, Black, Metallic : Painting the room with shades of gray and having few details of black and metal gives it a modern view. Even if you have dark details on your room, there is nothing brighter than having the sunlight entering those white curtains in the morning

  2. Place diverse textures and materials to give a three dimensional effect.

    • A lot of tulles and give knobs

  3. Decorations of a different color
  4. Or use white decorations but use different colors to display them
    • Blankets, stuff animals, pillows, frames, ribbons for the curtains, lamps, etc...
  5. Green plants and colourful flowers always gives life to any room, especially a white room.
